Graduated in Chemistry (1996) at the University of Parma with 108/110. Obtained the PhD in Health Sciences in 2008 (XX Cycle) and a Master in Occupational and Environmental Toxicology (1998) at the same University. Currently Associate Professor in MED/50 - Applied medical technical sciences (06/N1).
From 1996 to 2002 she obtained an Education grant (until February 1999) and then a Research Contract at the Unit of Industrial Toxicology and Occupational Medicine of the University Hospital of Parma. Then she obtained a research fellow (Analytical techniques for the determination of organic compounds in biological matrices) at the Laboratory of Industrial Toxicology, Department of Clinical Medicine, Nephrology and Health Sciences, University of Parma from 2001 to 2009 and later at the Department of Clinical and Experimental Medicine from 2012 to 2013. She also had a contract of coordinated and continuous collaboration with the research center ISPESL (National Institute of Occupational Safety and Prevention,), now INAIL, at University of Parma from 2003 to 2013.
The research was aimed at developing new methods for the analysis of toxicologically relevant molecules and their metabolites in biological matrices using chromatographic techniques combined with mass spectrometry, in the environmental and occupational field. Study of oxidative stress, pharmacokinetics and in vivo and in vitro metabolism studies of toxics and drugs were also investigated. She was involved in research projects funded by the Italian Ministry of University and Research (PRIN, COFIN), by EU (HELIOS, SUSCEPTSTYRENE) and by NIH (National Institute of Health, USA).
