Learning objectives

The student will learn the main aspects of differential diagnosis and therapy of the major electrolyte and acid-base disorders, as well as of the hypertensive emergencies, on the basis of the pathophysiology principles

The topics include acid-base and electrolyte derangements with characteristics of Emergency (Hyperkalemia, hyponatremia, hypernatremia, metabolic acidosis, ketoacidosis, lactic acidosis, diabetic hyperglycemic hyperosmolar sindromes), as well as hypertensive emergencies
