Learning outcomes of the course unit
Acquiring a critical knowledge of the principal points and events of the contemporary history. The student will acquire specific skills and methodologies useful to improve his knowledge about particular topics of the Contemporary history, and to reinforce his cognitive ability to understand and reorganize his comprehension of the world.
Course contents summary
The course offers an overview of the principal questions and events of contemporary history and focuses on the XXth Century, with particular attention to the European dimension.
a) an history textbook (since 1815);
b) P. Genovesi, Laboratorio di storia, Milano, Franco Angeli, 2012;
c) a text to be agreed upon in class.
Assessment methods and criteria
Self-evaluation text (at the beginning and during the course); final oral exam. It will be evaluated the capacity to examine critically the specific competences acquired and to propose valid arguments.
