Learning objectives

Principal aim is student’s achievement in learning the course contents, in particular diagnosis of respiratory and cardiovascular diseases.
Prerequisites
Background knowledge in Pathophysiology, Microbiology, Semeiotics, Clinical Methodology is required.
Course unit content
During the course students attend the Department of Respiratory Diseases (case history, clinical examination , assessment of symptoms, arterial blood gases measurement, thoracentesis, chest X-ray, HRCT, respiratory failure, non-invasive ventilation, respiratory rehabilitation, long-term oxygen therapy); the Department of Cardiovascular Diseases (E.C.G, arrhythmias, echocardiography); the Division of Thoracic Surgery (operation, medication after thoracic surgery). <br />
