Learning objectives
The student must know when to prescribe and when to proscribe physical activity, whether at a competitive or non-competitive level. When deemed suitable, he/she must know what type of activity to prescribe, to what degree, in what mode and for how long. He/she must know the favourable and negative effects of exercise, both in healthy and ill individuals. He/she must know which substances are object of abuse and used for doping in the sports field.

<br />Drug abuse, integration and doping. Determinants of muscle fatigue and therapeutic intervention. Asthma from physical exercise and exercise-induced anaphylaxis. Physical exercise in the prevention, treatment and rehabilitation of chronic degenerative diseases. Fitness for competitive and non-competitive sports: indications and limitations.
