Essential knowledge about: bacteria, fungi, protozoa, viruses, viroids and prions; host-pathogen interactions and pathogenesis of infectious diseases; mechanisms of action and use of common antimicrobial and antiviral agents; host immune response and prevention of infectious diseases.
