ANAESTHESIOLOGY AND TREAMENT IN EMERGENCIES TRAINEESHIP
Learning outcomes of the course unit
— Recognizing apnea and respiratory failure; beginning bag-mask ventilation; evaluate and improve one’s technique to obtain adequate ventilation.
— Palpating central pulses and measuring arterial blood pressure; measuring peripheral arterial oxygen saturation; performing chest compressions.
— Preparing and administering emergency drugs: obtaining venous access, atropine, epinephrine, beta agonists.
— Preparing and administering infusions of analgesics through a venous line.
Course contents summary
— Being able to assess vital parameters and to obtain situational awareness.
— Start emergency medical treatment: bag-mask ventilation, venous access, chest compressions.
— Observe and participate in the preparation of infusions for postoperative analgesia.
Training sessions in the operating room.
