Integrated course unit module: KIDNEY AND URINARY TRACT PATHOLOGIES

Learning objectives

1) far comprendere allo studente le basi fisiopatologiche delle principali malattie renali e nefro-urologiche 2) individuare gli elementi caratteristici delle suddette malattie, definirne le principali alterazioni anatomo-patologiche e comprendere le relazioni tra danno istologico, alterazioni funzionali e sintomatologia;
3) far acquisire consapevolezza del significato e dei limiti delle indagini cliniche, strumentali e di laboratorio.

Aver superato tutti gli esami pre-clinici

Course unit content

Diagnosis of renal disease.
Primary and secondary glomerular nephropathies: pathogenetic, histological and clinical aspects; short notes of therapy.
General aspects of renal protection.
Action of diuretics.
Acute and chronic tubulointerstitial diseases.
Nephrolithiasis: clinical and therapeutic aspects.
Cystic renal diseases.
Acute and chronic vascular renal diseases.
Acute renal failure.
Chronic renal failure.
Dialysis: physicochemical principles and main clinical problems.
Renal transplantation: fundamental aspects of genetics, immunology, pathology and therapy
