Epidemiological measures, types of epidemiological study.
Epidemiology of deafness.
The Risk Factor Concept and the Concept of Cause in disease.
General Epidemiology of infectious diseases. - Host-parasite relationships, sources and reservoirs of infection, modes of transmission. Modes of emergence of infections in the population.
Types and levels of preventive intervention. - Notification, quarantine measures, diagnostic investigation of infectious diseases.
Sterilisation, Disinfection and Disinfestation.
Vaccine prophylaxis, types of vaccine, vaccine strategies and schedules. Passive immunoprophylaxis and chemoprophylaxis.
Screening test characteristics
Main prevention principles for non infectious diseases.
