Pathophysiology and semeiotics of diseases of the vestibular system. Vestibular stimulation methods. Fitting of cochlear implants. Knowledge of the main uses of the bibliographic archives.
In order to sit the Audiometry VI examination, the student must have sat the examinations of the Integrated Course of Audiometry V.
Course contents summary
Principles of electronystagmography, video-oculoscopy, video-oculography, posturography.
Methods for recording spontaneous, position, positioning and provoked nystagmus.
Posturography in the evaluation of the vestibulospinal reflex .
Rehabilitative management of the dizzy patient (peripheral and central vestibular syndromes).
Principles and methods for making cochlear maps in adults and children wearing cochlear implants.
Clinical and diagnostic procedures in peripheral vestibular disorders. Labyrinthitis. Menière's disease. Cupolo-canalolithiasis. Vestibular neuronitis. Vertigo in diseases of the central nervous system. Vertigo in the elderly. Rehabilitation therapy.
Use of the bibilographic archives both networked and local. Medline and EndNote.
