Learning objectives

<br />Acquisition by students of the capability of understanding English texts of scientific, medical or professional matter, in order to get up to date and improve their professional knowledge and skills.<br />Informatics(teacher, Roberto Covati) knowledge of the following items: 1) Computer architecture. Main components and function mechanisms. 2)Representation of informations inside computer. 3) Operative system and main applications of office automation. 4) Digital images. 4) Function principles of calculator network.

Course unit content

<br />Terminology: overall medical terminology; specific medical terminology concerning anatomy, physiology and pathology of the acoustic, ophthalmic, pulmonary, cardiovascular, gastrointestinal, renal, osteo-articular and muscular-skeletal apparatuses. Terminology concerning central and peripheral nervous systems and the endocrine system. Reading and translation of medical-scientific texts. <br /> <br /> <br />Informatics. the following items will be presented: 1) Computer architecture. Main components and function mechanisms. 2)Representation of informations inside computer. 3) Operative system and main applications of office automation. 4) Digital images. 4) Function principles of calculator network.
