LATIN LITERATURE I (UNIT A)
Learning outcomes of the course unit
Students will acquire basic knowledge of the history of Latin literature and will study a given topic or writer in detail through a reading of translated texts.
Course contents summary
Course title: Aspects of literary culture in the Republican Age.
The course aims to help students grasp the relationship between literature, society and political life in the Republican Age, by focusing on the development of the oratory and the historiography.
Textbooks and reading reference will be provided during lectures.
General part: history of Latin literature from its origins until the end of the Imperial Age.
Lecture part: Reading list provided during the course.
