LATIN LITERATURE I (UNIT A)
Learning outcomes of the course unit
Students will acquire essential knowledge of Latin literature and explore a specific line of study, topic or author in detail through the reading of translated texts.
Course contents summary
Lecture course: The purpose of the course is to describe the evolution of the epic in Rome against which background the main characteristics of the Aeneid will be described. The course also gives an overview of epic poetry subsequent to the Aeneid
General part: history of Latin literature. Students will learn the broad outlines of all of Latin literature, with particular reference to the main authors.
