Learning objectives
The course aims at offering the basic knowledge about different research perspectives offered by contemporary human geography. The student, besides basic concepts of the discipline, will acquire the sense of interdisciplinarity of the geographical approach to social sciences, that can be applied in many research topics
Prerequisites
A basic knowledge of the traditional notions of geography (both physical and human) and about the different areas of the planet (from the point of view of both physical and political geography)
Course unit content
The course offers a synthetic overview of the main contemporary research directions in human geography, with a particular focus on the geography of population, the geography of food, political geography, the geography of globalization. The course will also investigate the feeling of attachment to a particulat place and the new complex forms of social and cultural citizenship
