SUPPLEMENT TO CULTURAL HERITAGE CHEMISTRY
Learning outcomes of the course unit
Provide in-depth competences on pictorial works. The student should
acquire the ability to collaborate on a polychrome works conservation project and take part during the diagnostic stages planned at various times: before, during and on completion of the restoration works, and also during the subsequent monitoring stages.
Course contents summary
During the course, pictorial works are considered with
provision of in-depth information on constituent materials,
stratigraphic aspects, degradation of materials, their composition problems that are posed for doing a diagnostic project, suitable
investigation techniques for answering questions, reading of analytical data, the conservation project.
