<br />Parent materials and mineral composition of sandstones. Studies in thin-section. Classifications. Tectonics, climate, transporting agent, depositional environment and detrital mineral composition. Recycling of sediments. Diagenetic processes in sandstones. Heavy-mineral analysis and provenance. Study of non opaque-heavy minerals to polarizing microscope
