LATIN LITERATURE I (UNIT A)
Learning outcomes of the course unit
Acquiring of essential knowledge of Latin literature and developing of a pathway, a theme and an author through the reading of translated texts
Course contents summary
The purpose of the course is to describe the features of the ancient novel against which background the main characteristics of the latin novels (Satyricon and Metamorphosis) will be described.
Compulsory introductory part: History of Latin literature. Students must have basic knowledge of Latin literature in general and more in-depth knowledge of the main authors.
Independent reading: reading in translation of Apueius' Metamorphosis or of Satyricon and chapters 4-6 of Metamorphosis
