Learning objectives
At the end of this course the student should have a good knowledge and comprehension of the following topics:
The avalaible techiques of prenatal diagnosis either invasive and not invasive
The limits of the genetic tests
The potentials and limits of the new technologies to preatal diagnosis
The genetic counseling
Once acquired this background, the student should be able to perform the following activities:
Evaluate the correctness in prescribing a genetic test
Use the genetic tests in a correct way
Communicate a risk figure in the context of genetic counseling

This course treats of the application of medical genetics to prenatal diagnosis, by evaluating pro’s and con’s of the different available methods.
