INFLAMMATION unit A
Learning outcomes of the course unit
To provide basic information to understand the role of inflammation in host defence and pathology.
A basic background in general pathology is strongly recommended. However, the required information will be provided during the lectures.
Course contents summary
The course will provide a description of inflammatory processes with a particular emphasis on aspects of biotechnological interest.
Lectures will concern:
a) the dynamics of inflammation
b) cellular and plasmatic mediators
c) systemic effects and disorders of the inflammatory response
