Learning outcomes of the course unit
To offer the basic knowledge of plants biology at
cytological and systematic level
Course contents summary
: Costituents of living organisms: organic and inorganic matter. Autotro-
phic and eterotrophic organisms. Plant metabolism: photosynthesis
and transpiration. Nitrogen and carbon utilization Procariots: Saprofitism
and symbiosis. Rhizobium-legume symbiosis. Eucariots: cell wall, pla-
stids, vacuole. Growth and development of the vegetal cell. Cellu-
lar differentiation. Vegetal tissues and their characteristics. Morphology
and anatomy of the plants. Organography of the vegetables and fun-
ctions. Flowers, fruits and seeds.Products of secondary metabolism: lectin,
glycosides, tannins, alkaloids.
