Knowledge of rhetorical theory and of history of classical rhetoric.
Building a critical approach to some of the key texts.
Course contents summary
Ancient rhetoric and its different facets
Rhetoric as art of persuasion, as a technique to manage and handle words, as a literary language practice, as a testing ground for the effects of language. Is it an "antiphilosophy"? Or philosophy's fellow traveller?
