Course unit content

Course title: L’officina del poeta
The course has as its object the reading, in translation, of significant passages by various authors in which it emerges the conception that the Latin poet has of his own work. The parts for expression of poetics (Prefaces, forewords) are also the places in which the poet opens up, in some way, the technical aspects of his work, and the ideal structure which underlies it.
A specific bibliography and texts will be provided in the course of the lessons. Core content: history of Latin literature from its origins until the end of the Imperial Age.
