Learning objectives

<p>Read and decipher avant-garde Russian poetry texts.</p>

Prerequisites

<p>Basic knowledge of the Russian language. Having sat the exam for Russian Literature I.</p>

Course unit content

Universal flourishing. Utopia in the Russian avant-garde. <br />
The course aims to provide a broad overview of the Russian historical avant-garde, placing it in the European context with particular attention to its relationship with Italian Futurism. The poetical and theoretical production of the futuristic and post-futuristic galaxy of the great Russian authors, Velimir Chlebnikov, Vladimir Majakovskij, Aleksej Kručenych up to Daniil Charms, in the pre-and post-revolutionary period will be examined. <br />
