Learning outcomes of the course unit
The objective of the course is to make the students aware with regard to the problems of the diffusion of texts, and to be able to correctly use a crucial edition.
Course contents summary
The course is aimed at the study of the tradition of texts and the editing methods of the copy in philology.
Alfredo Stussi, Introduzione agli studi di filologia italiana, Bologna, Il Mulino, 2002 (third edition) or successive editions; with the exclusion of the section dedicated to the Philology of the author.
Alfredo Stussi, Fondamenti di critica testuale, Bologna, Il Mulino, 2006 (new edition) with the exclusion of the articles by Cesare Segre and Andrea Bozzi.
The teaching will be the classroom lecture type, but active student participation will also be solicited through exercises of transcription and collation of manuscripts carried out in class under the professor’s guidance.
