Integrated course unit module: PRINCIPLES OF ONCOLOGY

Learning objectives

The objectives of the integrated course are to provide Students with basic knowledge of the biology and clinics of neoplasms with particular reference to the neoplasms of the female genital system; to provide basic concepts of the physiology and clinics of breastfeeding, of the development of the mammary gland and of the most frequent infectious and inflammatory diseases of the breast; to provide information concerning sexuality, personal interactions and sexual behaviour disorders and, finally, to provide information concerning the physiology of the menstrual cycle, amenorrhea, the menopause and its various related phenomena.

Course unit content

<br />The main goal of this course is to provide information on the physiology and pathology of the female genital system with particular reference to the physiology and the pathology of the menstrual cycle, post-menopausal osteoporosis, the alterations of the cardiovascular system associated with estrogen deprivation and to sexual behaviour and couple interaction in case of estrogen shortage.
