Learning outcomes of the course unit
To introduce the student to the sociological analysis of social, cultural and communicative phenomena, with a particular reference to the dynamics producing conflicts and violence. To stimulate the identification of the cultural frames orienting life and everyday relations of social actors. To deepen the relations between social and economic organization and the war logics.

Part A: Introduction to the study of “culture” and “society”. Social processes, creation of meaning and adversarial dynamics. The role of social representations.
Part B: War, society and culture: a sociological analysis of contemporary conflicts.
