DISEASES OF THE RESPIRATORY APPARATUS
Learning outcomes of the course unit
Attending the Department of Respiratory Diseases and the Respiratory Pathophysiology Service with practice activities including case history, laboratory tests, chest X-ray, respiratory function test, arterial blood gas measurement, Mantoux test . Principal aim is student’s achievement in learning the course contents.
Prerequisites
Background knowledge in Anatomy, Histology, General Pathology, Physiology, Biochemistry, Microbiology is required.
Course contents summary
During the course students in small groups attend the Department of Respiratory Diseases and the Respiratory Pathophysiology Service. The programme includes case history, clinical thoracic examination (inspection, palpation, percussion, auscultation), respiratory rate, heart rate, arterial blood pressure, chest X-ray, arterial blood gas measurement, respiratory function test, cardio-pulmonary exercise test.
