Learning outcomes of the course unit
Acquire knowledge on: adaptations and adjustments caused by physical exercise; favourable and negative effects of exercise, both in healthy individuals as well as in main chronic degenerative diseases; diseases that can cause respiratory changes; injury caused by smoking and environmental pollution and broncospasm pharmacological prophylaxis; principal contraindications to competitive sports, with special reference to cardiovascular aspects; audiometric, vestibular and postural exploration techniques; principal auditive and vestibular disorders and otovestibular evaluation techniques; nutritional principles of hydration and integration in sports activity; the effects of muscular activity in adverse environmental conditions.
Must know which activity (type, intensity and duration) is indicated in individual clinical situations and must be capable of prescribing it properly.
Must possess general knowledge of the main techniques of cardiovascular testing. Must be able to administer cardio-respiratory reanimation and correctly perform functional respiratory tests, both at rest and during exercise, as well as all other tests used in the lab and in the field in functional evaluation of the various types of sports.
