Learning outcomes of the course unit
The student must acquire information useful for: evaluating the medical-surgical emergency conditions that require the intervention of a specialist; evaluate clinical situations arising for the organs and systems in the areas of critical medicine, surgery, trauma, and cardiology.
The student will achieve competence in recognizing main diseases that surface quod vitam that lead to early clinical manifestations. Diagnosis-treatment process, principles of differential diagnosis, fundamentals of treatment.
The course will be mainly focused on concepts of Triage and early differential diagnosis, and will teach the international guidelines and recommendations on the subject through standard procedures.

Acute renal insufficiency.
Circulation and respiratory tract ALS.
Principles of mechanical ventilation.
Shock: etiology, pathophysiology, epidemiology and treatment
Coma and cerebral death, organ donation.
Poisoning and intoxication
Monitoring the critical patient
Pulmonary diseases: ARDS, pulmonary embolism, edema,
Cardiac arrhythmias: etiology, pathophysiology, epidemiology and treatment.
Metabolism: uncompensated diabetes and other diseases
Pathophysiology and therapeutic diagnostic path of:
Acute abdomen: peritonitis and occlusion
Penetrating abdominal traumas: Hemoperitoneum.
Rupturing aneurysms and limb ischemias
Thoracic traumas and emergency diseases of the thorax and mediastinum
