Learning outcomes of the course unit
The purpose of this course is to provide an in-depth background in histocompatibilty (MHC-HLA) applied to clinical transplantation.
Prerequisites
Student must have basic knowledge in biology, immunology and genetics.
Course contents summary
Structure and biological role of MHC-HLA molecules. Genetics of HLA antigens in populations and families. Tissue typing methods (serology and molecular). HLA in clinical settings: tissue and organ transplantation. HLA compatibility and graft survival.
