GENERAL AND APPLIED HYGIENE I
Learning outcomes of the course unit
The student must acquire the capability of understanding the objects and methods of community medicine, the epidemiology of not infectious and infectious diseases of dental interest, the correct behaviors to prevent acquisition and/or spread of these diseases.
Course contents summary
Epidemiology and prophylaxis of viral hepatitis, HIV infections , Tetanus, Tuberculosis, respiratory viral infection and herpes virus infections: possible on dentistry.
Epidemiology and prevention of chronic-degenerate pathologies (diabetes, coronary pathologies, neoplasia); dental decay, paradental pathologies, malocclusions, injuries.
Health and atmosphere: quality of air and waters. Pollution of air and superficial and deep waters. Drinkablity of waters, purification of drainages.
The water of the dental units elimination of waste in the dental cabinet.
Dental sanitary education and oral hygiene.
Hygiene of the foods and feeding.
Elements of organization and sanitary legislation.
