ADVANCED COURSE IN . CLINICAL BIOCHEMISTRY DIAGNOSTIC TECHNIQUES
The purpose of this course is to give the basis of Clinical biochemistry so as to provide a more panoramic view of this science and allow the operator in the laboratory to understand the reasons of a request of biochemical tests and/or the reason of the test composition of some metabolic and organ profiles. In this way, it will be possible more wide autonomy evaluating incongruity, contradictory data or evident errors once the analytical procedure is ended.
Besides the obligatory prerequisites stated by the course of degree, Clinical Biochemistry is an interdisciplinary science and needs the basic knowledge in Biochemistry, Physiology and General pathology.
Plasma amino acids and proteins. Clinical meanings of ammoniemia and uraemia variations
Role of laboratory in differential diagnosis and management of patients with glucose metabolic alterations.
Lipid and lipoprotein analysis in disease prevention, diagnosis and treatment
Assessment of acid-base homeostasis and hydro-electrolytic balance.
Markers of function and damage of: liver, kidney, heart.
