Learning objectives

The student is guided in collecting the patient's medical history data in written form in order to compile the report, and the rehabilitation record to acquire the ability to assess the patient's functions and abilities, identify the problems to be dealt with, define the short and long term objectives included in the rehabilitation project.

Prerequisites

Must have passed the final first year internship exam; <br />
Must have attended second year internship, N? 28 university credits; <br />
Must have all positive judgements in the assessment sheets (mark above 18); <br />
Must have handed in all reports and have obtained an average mark above 18.

Course unit content

<br />Presentation of a clinical case including social data, <br />
Assessment and identification of the patient's main problem, <br />
Use of techniques, assessment tools and gestural ability, <br />
Identification of some therapeutic proposals and their consistency with the analysis of the relationship between stability and mobility within a function.

Teaching methods

Practical internship in a hospital, in rehabilitation centres, in outpatients' departments for rehabilitation and at home; in the orthopaedic, neurological, rheumatological, cardiological and respiratory context; in the infant sector, geriatric sector and in the adult. <br />

1) Assessment of assessment sheets by the Physiotherapist, internship Tutor, in marks out of thirty; <br />
2) Assessment by the Year Coordinator of the reports written by the student on various clinical cases, in marks out of thirty; <br />
3) Assessment of the practical exam on a patient, in marks out of thirty; <br />
The final mark for the internship exam and the average of the 3 marks mentioned above that must all be above 18. <br />
