ORTHOPTICS
Learning outcomes of the course unit
The aim of the course is to demonstrate surgical techniques with orthoptic support, if required, in the case of forms of strabismus, both congenital and acquired (paralytic and restrictive).

Course contents summary
Indications in restrictive, post-traumatic and paralytic strabismus (TAO).
Weakening, reinforcing and substitution Surgical techniques: adjustable sutures and faden-operation.
Use of botulinum toxin in the treatment of paralytic strabismus.
Exophoria tropias and intermittent forms: surgical treatment.
Timing and quantification of the various types of surgical intervention.
