Fundamentals of physical activities
Anatomy and physiology
Course contents summary
Tecnical theory and didactics of group motor activities
Pathophysiology of endocrine glands and physical exercise. Neuropeptides and physical exercise. Effects of physical exercise on systemic diseases. Indications and contraindications of physical activity in the elderly. Temperature and physical activity and salt and water metabolism.
Movement tests. Orienteering. Team sports. Basketball. Conditioning abilities and training methods. Volleyball.
Aging as a biological and sociological ‘phenomenon’. Musculo-skeletal and nervous system aging. Outline of the main disabilitating pathologies of the elderly.
Specific equipment of gymnastics, safety and so called ‘facilitating’ equipment. Strength, balance and balistic exercises. Model of performance.
Physical activity in water. Recovery/rehabilitation of volleyball athletes with overload pathologies in thermal water. Post-surgical knee, ankle and shoulder athletes and rehabilitation in water.
