Learning outcomes of the course unit
Students must have knowledge of the basic elements of diseases treated during the course and be prepared to use such knowledge with a view to improving their professional skills.
Prerequisites
Prior knowledge of Anatomy, Physiology, Histology and General Pathology is recommended.
Course contents summary
The most important topics relative to diseases requiring thoracic surgery and useful for the profession are dealt with. The topics covered in the lessons are as follows: Lung Cancer, Pneumothorax, Pleural Effusion, Pleural Tumours, Mediastinal Tumours, Thoracic Wall Tumours, Thoracic trauma, Pulmonary Metastases, Thoracic Drainage.
