Learning objectives

<br />Learning of the main causes, clinics and differential diagnostics of fever, including fevers of obscure origin<br />Learning and identification of the main liver diseases, classification, clinical pictures and therapeutic orientation.<br />Learning of the main causes of anemia, clinical and therapeutic aspects.<br />Approach to the patient with hemorrhagic manifestations: clinical and therapeutic orientations.<br />Learning of the clinical, diagnostic and therapeutic aspects of venous and arterial thrombosis with special emphasis on pulmonary thromboembolism and DIC.<br />Approach to the patient with lymphoadenomegaly: +clinical aspects, differential diagnosis and classification of the main lymphoproliferative diseases.<br />Approach to peptic ulcer patients: clinical, diagnostic and therapeutic aspects.<br />Learning of the use of corticosteroids in clinical practice: main indications and contraindications

Course unit content

<br />Fever: pathophysiology, main causes, fevers of obscure origin <br />Liver diseases: icterus, acute and chronic hepatitis, cyrrhosis, liver insufficiency.<br />Anemia: anemia classification, main clinical pictures of the anemias (sideropenic, macrocytic-megaloblastic, hemolitic, chronic disease process and refractory)<br />Hemorrhagic diseases: due to platelet deficit, plasma coagulation factor, DIC)<br />Approach to the patient with lymphoadenomegaly: clinical, diagnostic and therapeutic aspects.<br />Infectious mononucleosis and clinical pictures similar to mononucleosis: clinical and diagnostic aspects.<br />Thrombosis and pulmonary thromboembolism: clinical, diagnostic and therapeutic aspects.<br />Peptic ulcer: clinical pictures, differential diagnosis and treatment.<br />Corticosteroids in medical treatment.
