Course contents summary
Etiology. The biological homeostasis. Healt and diseases.
Intrinsic pathogenic factors: mutations and mechanisms of DNA repair. Genetic disorders.
Disorders with multifactorial inheritance.
Extrinsic pathogenic factors: physical, chemical and biological factors.
Physical environment: radiation injury, mechanical force, thermal injuries.
Nutritional pathology: nutritional deficiencies, obesity, vitamin deficiencies. Chemoprevention of cancer. Food-stuff contamination: poisonous foods.
Individual contaminations by habit-forming practice. Smoke, alcohol.
