SOCIOLOGY OF ART (unit A)
Learning outcomes of the course unit
Art, in the sense of an aesthetically significant form of production, can constitute a sociological research theme inasmuch as its objective becomes that of describing, explaining and anticipating artistic actions in the sense of generators of other types of cultural events, and not just their reflection. Art in fact produces significant individual and collective cultural effects, both in terms of social and cultural conservation, and in their evolution alongside that of culture.
