Learning outcomes of the course unit
The course aims to provide students with the necessary elements for going beyond the simplistic perception of the phenomenon of sport merely in terms of current affairs and statistics as it has been shaped in the modern world by focusing the attention on the period of Fascism, which was crucial in this respect.
Course contents summary
Course title: Sport and mass society in Italy between the two World Wars.
The course will deal with the topics indicated for Module B of the three-year degree course in Philosophical Studies, with particular attention to the twenty years of Fascism in Italy, a period during which sport and its participants became an essential part of mass culture.
