DISEASES OF THE BLOOD AND ONCOHEMATOLOGY
Learning outcomes of the course unit
The recent advances in onco-hematology have elucidated the molecula pathogenesis of many hamatologic disorders and have led to the development of new diagnostic methodologies with main implications in hematologic malignancies.
The students must learn the basic knowledges on the physiology of normal hemopoiesis and the malignant transformation. The understanding of biologic alterations intumorigenesis is important for the interpretation of the laboratory tests related to oncohematologic pathologies.
The aim of the lessons is that all those concerned with laboratory work should understand what is the significance of the tests carried out in relation to the diagnosis, classification, prognosis and monitoring of diseases particularly: cytogenetics, FISH, DNA analysis, mmunophenotyping, PCR tecnicque.

Prof.M.MANGONI - normal hemopoiesis, development of cancer, clinical aspects of hematologic neoplasma, laboratory tests in malignant disorders and their implications in clinical pratice
Prof.TM.NERI - citogenetics tests in malignancies and clinical impact in hematologic neoplasms
Prof.V.FRANCIOSI - tumoral markers in oncoematology - general aspects and laboratory tests in lymphomas
