Learning outcomes of the course unit
The aim is to understand the biology of replication of the viruses, pathogens of the humans, the ability to give a productive infection, the different strategies of multiplication. Furthermore, tha ability to escape host defense, and, finally, the activation of a specific defense response.

Different mode of multiplication, replication and production of mature virus particles.
Mechanisms of pathogenicity of human viruses.
Systematic taxonomy of human viruses.
Characteristics of ¿in vivo¿infections performed by human viruses.
Viruses with DNA genome, RNA genome, positive and negative polarity.
DNA oncogenic viruses.
Activation of host defense: innate or natural and specific humoral and cellular responses.
