Provide a basic description of the legislative and normative references that are essential for an integrated approach to the study of biodiversity conservation and management problems.
Course contents summary
Aims and content of national and international provisions of greatest interest for the purposes of preservation of the environmental integrity and biodiversity heritage of the main types of habitat and ecosystem. Conceptual foundations for the definition of biodiversity conservation strategies and policies following sustainability criteria.
Documentation regarding original texts of the Rio Convention on Biodiversity and of EC Habitats Directive 92/43 and of the Water Framework Directive 2000/60/EC.
