Practical application of instrumental analytical chemistry thecniques (HPLC, GC, ICP, UV, IR, XRD) and to provide the basic concept of the statistical data treatment.
Prerequisites
General and Inorganic Chemistry. Analytical Chemistry.

Development of an analytical method.
Qualitative and quantitative analysis.
Excercises on the calculation of solution concentration and dilution.
Introduction to validation criteria: definition of the quality parameter of ana analytical method.

Statistical tests for the evaluation of linearity.
Laboratory experiments:
Theoretical aspects of the laboratory experiments.
Colorimetric UV-vis determination of Fe2+ in water
Spectrophotometric atomic emission determination of metals.
Anion exchange HPLC with conduttimetric detection for the determination of anions in water.
HPLC-UV determination of alkylphenols in water.
FT-IR analysis of a liquid and a solid substance
Powder analysis by XR diffraction.
Determination of volatile compounds by gaschromatography with different detection thecniques and use of internal standard.
Statistical data treatment with Excel.
