Learning objectives

The main aims of this course are to: study inorganic chemistry in depth, learn to dose an active principle, know how to prepare a solution of known titre and learn the manual skills that are indispensable for any type of laboratory.

Prerequisites

Compulsory previous courses: General and Inorganic Chemistry

Course unit content

<br />Introduction to pharmaceutical analysis. The chemical-pharmaceutical laboratory: safety rules and elements of first aid. Commonly used apparatus and basic techniques. Chemical-physical and toxicological characteristics of inorganic substances. Analysis of inorganic ions of pharmaceutical interest. Sample preparation. Definition of the analytical problem. Choice and confirmation of an analytical method. Databases and bibliographical research. Neutralization, complexometric, precipitation and redox titrations.
