Integrated course unit module: PATHOLOGICAL ANATOMY I

Learning objectives

Aim of the course is to provide the etiological and anatompathological aspects of the main diseases of the bones and joints in domestic animals.

Prerequisites

Propedeutics: General Pathology, animal physiopathology, veterinary immunopathology

Course unit content

Prof. Paolo Borghetti (1 CFU: 12 ore)
Exhaustive concepts on the main metabolic and inflammatory diseases of bone and on the main degenerative and inflammatory joints pathologies.

Full programme

1) Bone Pathology: Diseases of the bone development; Metabolic bone diseases (rickets, osteomalacia,osteoporosis, osteodistrophy); Inflammatory bone pathologies.
2) Joint Pathology: Degenerative Joint Disease (Osteoarthritis); Pathologies of the joint development (Osteochondrosis, Hip Dysplasia); Inflammatory Joint Pathology (infectious, traumatic and immune-mediated arthritis). Tumors of joints.
