Learning objectives

<br />Educational goals:<br />Provide fundamental knowledge on the etiology, pathophysiology, clinical, instrument and laboratory diagnostics, prognosis and treatment of the most common cardiovascular, respiratory and urinary diseases in small and large animals.<br />Acquired skills:<br />Learn to recognise and correctly interpret signs, symptoms and objective findings associated with cardiovascular, respiratory and urinary diseases.<br />Learn how to choose the most appropriate laboratory and instrumental diagnostic methods (electrocardiography, imaging diagnostics) with a view to defining diagnosis and prognosis.<br />Learn how to choose the correct treatment and monitoring technique for the patient

Course unit content

<br />Medical pathology of the respiratory system:<br />Diseases of the upper respiratory tract (nasal and paranasal cavity, larynx). Diseases of the trachea and bronchi. Diseases of the lungs and pleura. Diaphragm diseases.<br />Medical pathology of the urinary system:<br />Circulatory, inflammatory, degenerative and mechanical kidney diseases. Diseases of the bladder, ureters and urethra. Acute and chronic renal insufficiency. <br />Me4 dical pathology of the cardiovascular system:<br />Pericarditis and pericardial effusions. Myocarditis, Cardiomyopathies. Endocarditis. Endocardiosis. Cardiac rhythm abnormalities. Acute and chronic cardiocirculatory failure.
