Learning objectives
<br />The objective of the course is to give the student:<br />- the theorical and practical knowledge on ultrasonography making him able to perform an ultrasonographic examination of the small animal abdomen with enphasis on organs' examination and the use of Doppler technique. <br />- Knowledge on the use of positive and negative contrast medium and on mielography. <br />-The opportunity to correctly approach thoracic and abdominal radiographic cases, so for radiographic cases regarding metabolic bone disease and bone diseases of the appendicular skeleton. <br />- General basic knowledge on Computed Tomography (CT), Magnetic Resonance (MRI), Scintigraphy.

<br />Propedaeutic to Patologia Generale, Fisiopatologia Animale, Immunopatologia Veterinaria
Course unit content
<br />Traditional radiology: positive and negative contrast medium; Diseases of the thorax, abdomen, spine (mielography), metabolic diseases of the bone, skeletal diseases of the thoracic and pelvic limb. Ultrasonography: physical principles; ultrasound examination of the abdomen. Scintigraphy, Computed tomography (CT), Magnetic resonance (MRI): physical principles, applications.<br /> <br />
