Learning objectives

The general objective is to guide students to the internship by facilitating their insertion into the operational units where practical learning will take place. The laboratory allows the student to develop skills in a precise and orderly way, understand, verify and use the general principles of the theoretical program in clinical practice. Being a protected environment, the student has the opportunity to repeat through the exercises, having the feedback from the laboratory tutor, to develop the skills required by the profession.
Through the specific objectives we intend to develop:
- methodological skills in the application of the method of the nursing discipline according to reference models used in the proposed experiences
- the reflexive and critical thinking skills that connect theoretical contents and clinical experience
- awareness of the scientific motivations underlying the nursing act, including those of a professional technical nature
- skills in team work with a particular orientation towards confrontation

Teaching methods

The laboratory activity takes place in small groups of 6 to 15 students according to the activities. The methodology being active and gestural implies the availability of different materials such as mannequins, simulators, classrooms and spaces, specifically dedicated.
In addition to the tutorials, group works will also be proposed
Guided discussion of clinical cases.

Assessment methods and criteria

The nursing laboratory's learning assessment takes place through an exam where learners demonstrate their skills in a variety of simulated conditions (Objective structured clinical examination, OSCE).
The OSCE is made up of a set of tests, called STATIONS, which the student goes through one after the other. The number of tests and their content are chosen according to the objectives that characterized the clinical laboratory program.
