Learning objectives

The Laboratory will enhance the students' analytic, presentation, speaking and listening abilities in English as far as an advanced topic that is centerpiece of their studies is concerned: retail management.

Prerequisites

A maximum of ten students enrolled in the Second Year of TRADE will be selected for the Laboratory.
They must ensure they will be able to attend the Symposium in Dublin during the week of February 2020 that will be defined later during fall 2019.
Please note that, given that the Symposium in Dublin will require students to be abroad for about a week, NO Erasmus funding is available to support their expenses. This means that selected students must be willing and able to pay for their travel and accommodation expenses (e.g. airfare, hotel, meals and so on). Students will be selected based on a motivational colloquium and for their excellent English language skills

Course unit content

For the fourth year in a row a group of maximum 10 students of the II year will be selected to take part in the Retail Symposium at the Technology University Dublin, in February 2020.
Before the trip to Dublin, the students will work for several weeks in Parma on the preparation of a case and related presentaion in English. In Dublin they will attend lectures by professionals, managers and academics on the topic of choice for the year's Symposium. In 2020 it will be Customer Loyalty in Retailing.
Hence they will enhance their analytic, presentation, speaking and listening abilities in an advanced topic that is centerpiece of their studies: retail management.
